ScalarX applies a pragmatic backup model focused on data protection, backup readability, and restoration. This page summarizes the available options: backup included with managed services, the StackX Backup product, PBS VM backup through ScalarCloud, and a dedicated backup server when the required level of isolation justifies it.
The first level covers the standard backup included with managed environments, protecting databases and files at the system and application levels. When hosting runs on ScalarCloud Public, billed storage also includes the associated PBS VM backup.
When isolation, capacity, or compliance requirements increase, StackX Backup can deploy a managed backup server or receiver, optionally dedicated to the client.
Retention, frequency, and restoration policies are then adjusted to the actual criticality of the production environment.
If the requirement involves a second node, SQL/file replication, or a failover scenario, the appropriate scope is Replication / Disaster Recovery.
